Day 4

Day 4 was spent mainly driving to Anaheim.  We did take some time in the morning to swim in the pool at the Quality Inn in Santa Nella before leaving.  Which is a good thing because we were in for something real special when we arrived at our Anaheim destination! 

As per usual on our trip in California we hit horrible traffic before we reached Los Angeles and all the way to Anaheim.  It probably took us 5 times longer than it should have. We did however reach our destination finally!  Mitch and I had decided before the trip that we weren't going to spend a bunch of money on a fancy hotel room while in Anaheim.  Frankly, we just wouldn't be in our room that much to appreciate it.  Last time we stayed at the Travelodge and it worked fine.  The Travelodge was full when we tried to book it so we booked the Days Inn right across the street.  This turned out to be our biggest mistake of the trip.  The Days Inn turned out to be a HOT MESS and when I say hot, I really mean it.  Nothing in our room worked, everything from the alarm clock to the luggage rack.  Everything was broken, missing and while the air conditioner "worked" it did NOT.  The room was like 90 degrees and would not cool off.  

We decided to take the kids to the pool to cool off.  Using the word "pool" might be kind of an understatement.  The pool was so small we just started laughing hysterically when we saw it.  It totally reminded us of that Jim Carrey skit back in the '90s.  Luckily our kids will literally swim in anything (which this pool proved) and have a fun time!

That night Mitch and I stayed up till 2 am trying to figure out something to do about our room.  We were told that if we left we would lose all the money we paid for the room.  We also couldn't find much else that would fit our family elsewhere.  We finally decided that this just wasn't working out and that the next day we would move hotels.  It was so hot that night I don't think anyone slept, but that didn't matter because the next day we got up bright and early because we were going to CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE!

 Day 4: Days Inn, Room #304, 3 Queens beds, Free breakfast so small we couldn't even fit in the room, NO AIR CONDITIONER
