Cars 2

We finally made it to CARS 2.  I was being cheap and was waiting for it to come out in the the three dollar theater but it was taking WAY too long.  So on a rainy day we FINALLY (as my kids would tell you) saw it.

Our ward is having a ward talent show in a few weeks and they have been advertising it a lot at church so one day my kids put on a talent show for all of their animals.  It was very cute.  Natalie and Mitch decided (well jokingly, I HOPE!) that for the ward talent show they would get up and Mitch would ask Natalie how many drive up windows all of the fast food windows have.  Mitch would say," How many windows drive up windows does McDonald's have and Natalie would answer 2, then how many does Dairy Queen have- 1, Subway- 0, Jack in the Box-3, etc..."  For some reason anytime we have to go to a fast food drive thru Natalie is completely fascinated with how many windows each place has.  It is a little creepy.  To give my parenting skills a little credit, we don't go to fast food that often!  She is just completely in the know about how many each restaurant has and asks Mitch about everyone she can think of.  Well, that might be an original talent other than listening to a bunch of kids sing!  HA.

We have gone to a few parks to play on the few sunny days we have had this summer.  Sometimes it has felt few and far between.  The other week we met some friends and the Crossroads spray park and we were sitting next to a small tree that Cameron was able to jump to the nearest limb.  He kept hanging on the branch and doing pull ups on it.  It was pretty funny to watch.  I bet he probably did 50 by the time we left.  Anytime we go anywhere where Cameron isn't wearing a shirt he gets a lot of comments on his physique.  He is one little muscular guy!

All summer long we have had little to no naps and a late bedtime.  Dad and Mom are excited for a little more time at night this fall when we can all get to bed at a decent hour!

Point Defiance Zoo

My kids have been hounding me all summer to renew my zoo pass.  I finally got a around to doing it.  They love the zoo and it is lots of fun.  Realizing that I am running out of time we have been trying to pack in the activities the last few weeks that we really want to do before school starts.  The week I promised them to go to the zoo no one was around to come with us.  I had to question if I had completely lost my mind to take them by myself as I can hardly waddle around faster than a turtle but I can say we went and had fun.  By the end of the day I could hardly walk but I survived.

After the horrors at the petting zoo in Oregon I was surprised that the kids wanted to feed the birds.  Natalie wanted nothing to do with them and Julia was a little leery of them especially when two birds landed on her stick and started to fight.

We brought Subway in to the zoo for our picnic lunch.  I think it is a good thing that I only have one boy because Cameron asked me if it was okay if he could get a foot long sub, the six inch just wasn't enough.  I can't even imagine how much he is going to inhale by the time he is a teenager!

The zoo has two baby clouded leopards that we ended going to watch about three different times, they were so cute.  We saw the polar bears eating their lunch, played on the fun playground and watched the live animal show.   It was a fun day hanging out with 3 of my favorite people.

The final countdown

School starts in 15 days...

My sanity is hanging by a thread!

An apology

I am SO sorry for all of you that have to be around me. Especially to my husband and children who have to deal with me on a daily basis. I have been cranky, whiny, tired, swollen with little to no patience, and HUNGRY (Anyone that has spent any time with me knows that me and hunger do not mix!) My new diet really SUCKS and sticking myself with a needle 4 times a day hasn't improved my mood. Now that I have got my whining out of the way--really, there are way worse things in life. I keep telling myself to get some perspective! I want to say that I am actually glad for this opportunity to have a new little baby come to our home and am trying to be a little happier, patient and not so cranky so that people want to be around me. I know it will be worth it in the end.

See what I mean? Kierstin's new baby girl--welcome little/big Anya!

One brave guy

Yesterday Cameron had to go to the dentist to get a cavity filled and one of his baby molars pulled. The tooth was sick and causing an infection because of an old filling he had. He was really nervous about getting it pulled and I assured him that the Dr. would numb his mouth and it wouldn't hurt. I wasn't able to be in the room with him while he had it done because I had a Natalie with me. So he had to be brave. I am so glad that I wasn't in the room. I think I might have fainted if I had to watch that. After he came out and he showed me the tooth I gasped. It was HUGE! Cameron told me that I was wrong and that it hurt really bad to get pulled out but he didn't cry. I know that I would have cried if it were me. HOLY COW! Seriously, he is one tough boy. The tooth fairy felt so bad for him having to get that monster pulled that she left a family size box of Junior Mints with his money. That should help with the cavities! HA!
