Issaquah Gliders

This spring instead of baseball or t-ball we signed the kids up for a track team, the Issaquah Gliders. It is for four weeks, twice a week with two meets. It has been a lot of fun to watch. Natalie is too young to be on the team but is able to participate in the meets. It is nice to have something that at least two of them can do at the same time. Cameron is a very serious runner and everything is a competition, even the warm up and the cool down. I would expect nothing less of him!  He makes us laugh watching him. Julia is a crack up with her long legs when she runs and she is so dang cute. She is more into running for the social aspect and when they have to run for 5 minutes at the end of practice she is completely engrossed in conversation with a friend that she has made. They practice all sorts of field events and Julia told me her favorite is the hammer throw. HA!  They have their last meet this Friday and while I was discussing with them what events they wanted to do this time Julia said she wasn't sure she wanted to do the running events because they made her legs tired.  Cameron gave her a disgusted look and said, "That is the whole point Julia!"

At the first meet all three kids did the turf hurdles. Natalie was so cute I had to download the video.

Trip to Seahurst Park

I had the opportunity to go with Julia and her 1st grade class to Seahurst Park.  They are learning about sea life and we went and found all kinds of it on the beach.  It was cold, rainy, and windy.  Just the weather you hope for when you have a long afternoon on the Sound and by the time we were done I was absolutely frozen.  But it was well worth it to spend time with my Jules.  I LOVED the card she made me and if for just the card it was worth it!

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Natalie LOVES chocolate chips cookies, I mean really.  More than chocolate chip cookies she loves the dough.  A girl after my own heart.  We would be happy enough to make the dough and just eat it. HA.  About once a week Natalie wants to make chocolate chip cookies. She will try to talk anybody she can into making them with her and she is a little expert on how to do it.  She can get all the ingredients out and knows when you put everything in.  The other morning Nat woke up and said, " I had the best dream last night, for breakfast you gave me a plate of chocolate chip cookies to eat instead of cereal."  I had to laugh because of course that is what a 4 year old would dream!

The Utah Jazz

Cameron's good friend at school is a boy from the neighboring ward.  They both love basketball and play it at recess everyday.  His friend's favorite team is the Utah Jazz so Cameron and his friend Caleb are the Utah Jazz.  They play other kids at recess and Cameron has made a score board of their wins and losses that hangs in my family room.  He updates it everyday when he gets home.  According to Cam they are the best and never lose :)

On a similar note:  If you know Mitch and know how much he loved the Sonics and didn't love the Jazz, you would understand how much this kills him.  I overheard Cameron tell someone the other day, "My dad says if the former Sonics, the Oklahoma Thunder win the Championship this year my dad says he will never watch the NBA again."

HA HA HA!!  No worries, Mitch has already brainwashed Cameron on the best players of all time, Gary "The Glove" Payton.

Julia's Music Concert

This girl is so cute!  I love her.

Julia had been waiting for weeks for her music concert.  She couldn't wait to sing me her songs.  Everyday she would come home and tell me she had been practicing at school for the big performance.  Here is a sample of three of her songs:

Giddy

I am seriously so excited.  Maple Valley is getting a Fred Meyer!!  I am talking 1.5 miles from my house.  This is going to make my life so much easier in so many ways.  I have been waiting for weeks for it to open and tomorrow is the day!  It doesn't take much to thrill me, obviously!

Mother's Day

I feel so blessed/lucky to be a mother and to celebrate Mother's Day with the people I love.  The kids made me breakfast in bed which was toast.  It is the only thing that they know how to make on their own and I loved it, even the 2 inches of butter that was spread on it.  Mitch let me sleep in, I received some special gifts made by my sweethearts and received a CD of songs sung from the primary and youth in our ward at church, which may or may not be listenable. :) Although Natalie did sing me her song and made me cry.  Also got to spend some time with the mom's in my life.  Life is good.

Natalie Nat Jane Stuard

I have been finding papers all over my house with the same thing written on them:

Natalie  Nat  Jane  Stuard

They always include a sun, flowers, a person, and many times a rainbow.

It makes my heart melt.  I love it.

Jumparoo

A week or so ago I bought a Jumparoo off of Craigslist, I really didn't want to spend a bunch of money on something that Lucy wasn't going to like.  But in the past couple of days she has gotten the hang of it and she is so cute in it!

Heart Attack

My Julia is in desperate need of new clothes.  The Gazelle looks like an orphan.  Everything she is wearing does not fit.  It is like trying to keep a weed clothed.  Whew....

So today I went to Kohl's to have a look around at some clothes for her.  She is no longer in the little girl section and has moved on up.  This was my first time in the older girl section and I have to say, I almost had a HEART ATTACK.  Seriously.  I texted Mitch and said, "I am HORRIFIED at the clothing options."  The clothes they have for these girls are something a 17 or 18 year old hooker would wear.  This little number is in Julia's size.  Size 8.  Who would let their little girl wear this??  My baby is in first grade!

I do realize that there are more age appropriate clothes out there and it is just a matter of going to a different store but WOW were my eyes opened.  I feel bad for Jules because she is still so young even though she is so tall.  She still wants the monkey outfits and cute flamingo dresses Natalie is getting.  Growing up can be hard. :)

Julia Glulia

This might be hard to read but the other day Julia brought home this paper from school that she made in computer lab.  She is a funny girl!
