Sumner City Council Position 1: Filled

The swearing in....

Grandpa ran for Sumner City Council and won this last fall.  We had the opportunity to go and watch him get sworn in and watch part of the council meeting.  It was a cool experience.  Cameron came in his cub scout uniform and met the Mayor, the Fire Chief, the Police Chief and a few others.  This helped him pass off some of the requirements for his Citizenship activity badge on his way to his Webelos badge. Way to go Grandpa!!

I think Cam might have been a little embarrassed that I kept taking pictures.

The reason there are no pens left in the house

On the way to church Mitch checked his coat to make sure he had a pen.  I would say he was set!
Another reason I love him...his inner nerd!

Celebrating the new year

This was the 2nd annual Grandpa and Grandma New Year's Eve Sleepover Party.

Some of our cousins were able to attend!  And if you ask my kids the best part is that parents are not invited!

Making candy trains

We were lucky enough to play a few more days before reality set in and we headed back to school.

Happy New Year!

Ashley's Baptism

The day after Christmas, we headed south to visit our cousins in Coos Bay.  I think the kids were almost more excited to see the cousins than for Christmas.  They had been talking about it for months.

The girl of the hour

The cousins sang If the Savior Stood Beside Me as a special musical number.  Lucy stood up there the hold time holding Ashley's hand.  It was very sweet.

Two girls--just hanging out.

Ke$ha

Last night in the car I overheard Natalie tell Cameron that the singer on the radio was the best singer ever.  That singer was Ke$ha.
That's right.....a singer with a dollar sign in her name.
We Stuard's have high standards!

My Poetry Collection

I found this gem of a collection in Cameron's folder stuffed in the very back.  A month ago Cam told me that they were working on poetry in school and he hated it.

My Poetry Collection
By Cameron Stuard

Seahawks
Tough men on the field
Always working always scoring,
Field goal, touchdown, safety.
Tough men on the field always working,
Always scoring.

Football
Down! Set! Hike!
The center snaps the ball,
The receivers go down the field.
The quarterback gets ready to throw,
The ball releases out of his hand.
The ball goes up and up
And down and down, into the receivers
Hand into the end zone,
Touchdown!

Sisters
Sisters, Sisters, Sisters
Annoying, Annoying, Annoying
Always bossing you around
Always begging you to do stuff.
Sisters, Sisters, Sisters
Annoying, Annoying, Annoying.

My Pet
I'm glad that I have a pet to play
With and cuddle with when I have nothing
To do.  He is furry and soft.
He is the best Guinea Pig!

My Room
My room is one of the most
Important places to me because it's
Where I sleep, play and go when
I am bored.

Christmas

Christmas was nice.  The kids always make it a fun time. They left a bucket of water outside on the porch in case Santa's reindeer were thirsty.  Apparently, I had a relaxing day because I took about three pictures the entire day.

Santa was good to us this year:
Cameron:  A football, some NFL guy figurines, Under Armour clothes, a Guinness record book, a Nike water bottle...
Julia: An American girl tent and an AG sleepover pack, princess dolls, boots, Apples to Apples, a mood ring....
Natalie: Santa brought both girls the American Girl tent and the princess dolls, a gumball machine, an Olivia book, a reading light, Polly pocket....
Lucy: A baby stroller, a dream light, slippers, coloring book, pots and pans to cook with....

On Christmas Eve Mitch surprised me by taking me to The Do-It Center where they had all their Christmas items 50% and bought me a new nativity.  I love it!

Hope you had a Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve dinner
Lucy pretty much just ate olives. What else is new?

The Small Shepard

The Large Shepard

Mary

The Donkey

Jillian some how got roped into the picture with all the children!

Bingo

Lucy swirling in her new ballet outfit

Headphones

Rainbow Loom

The NFL Robot

The night ending with an intense game of Bedbugs

What more can you ask for on Christmas Eve?  Epic.

Uncle Dale's Posse

One of the most exciting things that happened over Christmas was UNCLE DALE came home!  The kids love when he comes home and literally are bouncing off the walls when he is around.  Everyone loves Uncle Dale!

It might be that he acts the same age as them....just a thought....

But this year was more exciting because Dale brought home someone even more exciting than himself.  He brought home.... Jillian!

They have found a new love...
Thanks Jillian for putting up with a lot of hugging, talking, giggling, screaming and chaos!

Welcome to the family!!

Seahawks

Today is Seahawks Day at school!!

Beast Mode

Julia's class is having Seahawk/Pajama day

This shirt is a little old.  Alexander hasn't played for the Seahawks for quite some time but we will call it "vintage" and be in style!

Cameron had zero hour so I didn't get a picture of all three of them together before he had to leave but they were sure cute this morning.

GO SEAHAWKS!!!

Story of my life....

There were once two cats of Kilkenny,
Each though there was one cat too many;
So they fought and they fit,
And they scratched and they bit,
Till, excepting their nails
And the tips of their tails,
Instead of two cats, there weren’t any.

Three

That is the number of shirts Lucy has destroyed with Sharpie markers this week!

Anyone with ideas of how to get this out of clothes, I would love to hear from you.  My treatments have not worked so well.

This child is into everything!!!

Nutcracker 2013

On December 23rd Mom, Cameron, Julia, Natalie, Grandma Swany, Katie and Laura went to the Nutcracker in Seattle!  Dad and Lucy stayed home!  We had a fabulous time expanding our minds with the Performing Arts.

This was Natalie's first time going and she was so excited to see the performance. I sat next to her and boy did she have a lot of questions! She was very interested in everything going on.

Our seats were obviously the best money could buy!
