Is it better?

Is it better to wet your own pants or have someone wet them for you?  Thanks to Lucy Baby I have these types of thoughts to ponder....

Julia told me yesterday, "My eyes are as dark as tree trunks"   I could not stop laughing.  Were does she  come up with this stuff?

Natalie's new favorite song is Diamonds by Rihanna or as Nat calls it, Shine bright like a diamond.  She said that she needs to listen to that song 'cause it is stuck in her head ALL day and she just can't get it out.  The moves she has while dancing to that song are quite impressive.  She knows how to shake her thing!

Blackbeard the Pirate

Julia was in her very first school play, Blackbeard the Pirate.  She was Polly the Parrot.  Seriously, so cute.  It is one week of fun drama and then it is over.  My kind of play!  Julia had a great time and had a lot of fun.  I just love those great big junior mint eyes of hers!

Here are a couple clips of when the parrots took the stage:

Heartache of a Nine Year Old Boy

Sunday was the Seattle Seahawks playoff game against the Atlanta Falcons.  Cameron had been waiting all week for this game and COULD NOT WAIT!  We got home from church at half time and the score was BLEAK.  The Seahawks were down 20-0.  That information was too much for him to take and he sat on the couch and cried. Then things started to turn around for Seattle. With 30 seconds left in the game the score was 28-27, Seattle in the lead.  Pure elation.  With only a few seconds left Atlanta kicked a field goal and won the game 30-28.  Cameron couldn't even watch, he hid his head in the cushions.  Cam's grand visions of the Seahawks making it to the Super Bowl were gone.  It was a hard day.

On a separate note of rough:  Our ward was split on Sunday and we were put in a newly created ward, with that comes a new building that is 16 miles away.  That might not be too big of a deal but when the current one is 1 mile away, that really sucks.  Change is good, right?  I will keep telling myself that!

Pure Sweetness

Lucy is at the cutest age.  She is  B*U*S*Y all day, moving, moving, moving.  She is on verge of walking full time and I am sad to see her crawling days end.  She has been my most creative crawler of all my kids.  For the most part she crawls on her hands and feet.  We call it "yoga baby" because I tell you she has some pretty awesome yoga moves that are hard to master.  Anytime she is in a dress or on a texture she doesn't like she will do her crawl and it is amazing how many people are just blown away at her skills. :)  Tonight as I was trying to clean up dinner Lucy and I played the game "keep Lucy off the stairs."  It took me forever to get dinner cleaned up because she would not stop.  I would move her to the family room get her some toys to play with, start picking up dinner and then she would take a sheepish look at me and make a mad dash for the stairs and start to climb.  As soon as she heard me coming she would try to climb as fast as she could but she was laughing so hard she could barley move.  She was cracking me up.

Shoveling as much Christmas candy in her mouth as fast as she can!

I attached a video I took of her the other day, doing some of her tricks. I was going to shorten the video because it is a little long but was having trouble with my editing so here is the long version:

Christmas

We had a nice Christmas.  The kids were very excited and it is always fun to see the excitement on their faces on Christmas morning.  They got up at 7 am ready to unwrap some gifts!  Some of us weren't quite as wake.  Whence the inside out pants.

Cameron got a Marshawn Lynch jersey

...and football gloves! It isn't the easiest thing to do, opening gifts with football gloves on!

Julia got Lego Friends and lots of crafts!

Natalie my fashionista...

Santa brought Lucy sippy cups and she was in HEAVEN.  She carry them around laughing and laughing.  It was the cutest thing.

We had a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.  The kids spent the night at Grandpa and Grandma Swany's house for the first annual Grandparent New's Eve sleepover and they LOVED it.  They are hoping that one of these years a few more of the cousins will be able to join them.  Here's to a GOOD 2013!!

Christmas Eve

The Festivities

Laura's sibling gift:  The coolest wiener dog, hot dog cutter ever.

Dale's sibling gift.  Nice look.

My sibling gift.  My kids love the fact that we now have something to hang our bananas on. Whew...  Which leads me into my gift from my husband......

The "Nana Saver"

I know you are jealous.  What can I say? A nana saver and pajama jeans in back to back years, I am one lucky gal.  Before I tease my husband too much, I will say he got me some really nice stuff besides!

Shout it out from the rooftops!

Lucy has slept through the night for TWO nights in a row.  It has been 14 long months (at night)!
