The Perfect Pet

Natalie came home on Monday saying that in writing they are working on opinion writing and that their topic was "the perfect pet."  It is hard to write about your perfect pet two days after your pet dies.  So cute.

Crazy Hair Day

Today was the day.... crazy hair day.  Only one of the most important days of the year around here.

Lucy was not going to be left out.  Here are her "dog ears"

Our Chocolate Guy

On Saturday, February 20, 2016 Chocolate Guy died.  That morning I could tell that something was not right with him and that he didn't have much time left.  We let the kids say goodbye and a few hours later he was gone. The kids were devastated and it was a rough day.  It is no fun when your pet dies.  The kids have started dreaming of what new pet we might get next but the parental units think we might take a pet break for the summer.  Lucy is already thinking a bunny and naming it Toots.  We will see how that turns out.   For now it seems strange without our fuzzy little friend.   We will miss you Chocolate!

Hat Day

What a guy

My Mr. Cameron is such a sweetheart.  I can't believe how big he is getting.  This year in school he has been doing such an awesome job and has been working so hard.  In science he had a 3-D cell project where he had to use things around the house to represent different parts of a cell.  The items had to represent the function of each organelle not look like each one.   He was so excited about the project.  I love when my kids really enjoy projects and not hate them.  It makes life literally so much better.  This week he brought home his semester grades and while I am proud of his grades I was more proud of the comments.  I love to hear "Highly motivated, good role model, and pleasure to have in class."  These are the things that make me happy.

On Monday night for Family Home Evening, Cameron told me that he had prepared a little something so that he could pass off something for his Duty to God.  He needed to discuss and answer some question with his parents and family about the sacrament.  He started off by asking the girls some basic questions about the sacrament like "What does the bread represent, what does the water represent?" The girls of course start shouting out the answer to his questions and then he turned to all of us and said, "Now I know that you might already know the answers to some of these questions, but we are going to look for the answers in the text."  He then held up his scriptures.  Mitch and I almost died.  He is serous the sweetest thing.

Miss Lucy

Lucy hasn't been feeling well the past few days so we have been lying low.  Today as I was cleaning I found her reading to her babies.  She is so cute with all her stuffed animals.  The other week I bought her a stuffed unicorn at Fred Meyer in their Valentine's aisle, so you can imagine the high quality that it is.  It might be the dumbest thing ever but she loves it and carries it everywhere.  Lucy continues to make us laugh and laugh.  Yesterday at dinner Lucy announced, "I'm glad that I'm living with the Stuard's!"

Us to Lucy Baby, us to.

Little Pill

We have a pesky mole that is digging our front yard up.  Every morning there is one or two new holes.  This morning when I took Cameron to school and we saw two new fresh ones.  Cameron's statement sums the situation up nicely, he said "That little pill!"

Precisely.

1st Band Concert

Julia had her first band concert a few weeks ago.  She was darling.  I wish I had taken a better picture.  I filmed some of the concert but shockingly enough when you re-watch a elementary band concert it is a little hard on the ears if you know what I mean....

Julia and her friend auditioned for a duet part to perform at the concert and were chosen.  I was so proud of her.  That is a scary thing to do! She did awesome.

Unfortunately Mitch and Lucy missed the concert due to what I will call "4 year old-itis", this is where Lucy was escorted out of the building by her father before the performance even began.

Phil

Happy Groundhog Day!

Phil did not see his shadow this morning.  Spring is just around the corner and we are ready for it! The kids did a re-enactment of Phil coming out of his burrow this morning using Chocolate the guinea pig.  Chocolate was a good sport and predicted no more winter (He is a good compliant pig.)

Happy February!!
