Crossing over to the Dark Side

It all began with a purchase of a CD.

A CD the kids and I listened to for  two months straight anytime we were in the car, house, or anytime we were listening to anything really.

For him it was the usual eye roll, removal of the CD whenever he could, and the "please can we stop listening to this!"

Then I began to notice small differences.  Nothing too noticeable, the eye rolling slowed, the songs played in the car even when he was there, and he even played the video on YouTube for the girls.

Then one day I found this lying around the house:

What could this be? Was this an important list he dropped? Could this really be what I think it is? A list of songs...in his handwriting?  Why? What? How?

Then the unthinkable happened.  The CD went missing.  Where was it?  How did we lose it?
Finally I found it, safe and sound in HIS CAR stereo!

It's true.  He hates to admit it but its still true.  He likes, the CD.  In fact the other day he said, and I quote "I can't believe I am saying this but this CD is fantastic"

Yes, you heard it here:  Mitch likes Taylor Swift

Most of the time my Cd's come with a warning label just for him, but in this case he crossed over to the dark side!  Hey if you can't beat them, join them!

Retro Day

Today is "Retro Day" at school.  The girls have been anxiously waiting for this day to arrive.  Perhaps it is because they can't dress up for Halloween at school but whatever the case they were ready today!

Lucy and the Ice

For Mid-Winter break I took ALL of my kids ice skating. They did awesome and had a lot of fun.  This time I only took pictures of Lucy mainly because I couldn't leave her side and for the mere fact she was so INCREDIBLY cute.  I mean aren't those tiny ice skates the cutest thing you have ever seen?

Lucy had a walker to help her skate and did really well.  She got going pretty fast and skated really well.  That is until the Zamboni came on and cleaned the ice.  After that she would get on the ice and say that "the ice was shampooed and too slippery."  She would go around once then want to get off, sit for a minute, get up skate for another lap, sit, get up, etc....  The picture above is her telling me that the ice is shampooed and that she isn't happy about it.  I have no idea where she came up with ice being shampooed  but it was so cute.

Occupational hazards

My stay at home mom job can cause some serious on the job injuries.

Every other week I get the privilege of helping out in my girls class rooms at the elementary school.  The other week it was my job to staple Natalie's classes Valentine poaches together.  Each poach had about 25 staples and I made 27 poaches.  The stapler had a raised logo right where you pushed down to staple. Ouch!

This happened after tying all the kid's and my ice skates really tight.  I also had three other blisters to go along with it.  Lucy prays every day to "have my fingers get better."  This little bugger is still hurting.

One might think I have the softest baby skin ever but my dry alligator hands have something else to say about that!

The Pied Piper

Last week Julia starred in her school play, The Pied Piper. She was a Towns Kid and loved every minute of it.

This was pretty much the only picture I got of her in her costume.  There were so many people trying to get pictures that it was almost impossible.

After the show Grandma Stuard bought Julia a t-shirt. Julia was so excited to have her friends sign her shirt.  Thanks Grandma!

Here is a small clip of the play.  Enjoy!
(Not bad filming with Lucy sitting on my lap, blocking the camera!)
