The Temp!

Yep, that is what I am! Mindy the Temp.

Mitch's company was looking for someone to do some admin. work that can be done from home. Mitch convinced me that I could learn to do it and earn a little cash. So in the afternoons while Cameron and Julia are at school and Natalie is "taking a nap", I will be working. It should only be a few hours every day for about 4-5 weeks. I have definitely been out of the "work place" for quite some time now so this is a little scary. Today was my first day and it seemed to go okay. Of course they are easing me into it slowly so in the next couple days that could change when I have to do everything by myself, but for $17 dollars an hour I will give it a try! Mitch and I keep joking about how we are co-workers and my first day on the job I gave him a hard time about not signing up to be a volunteer at the company lunch BBQ this Friday. He is going to love having his wife work with him. :)

Just have to say...

Any time I see a guy serving food wearing this, I want to scream out loud WHY!
Tonight at Costco I saw a worker wearing on of these. No matter what kind of mood I am in when I see it that, it always makes me laugh out loud. Wouldn't you just shave it off? C'mon people!

Puyallup Fair

We did the Puyallup.

The kids came home with free admission tickets from school begging us to go. With Mitch in Cross Country, Saturday was the only day we could possibly go. So promising the kids that if it was nice and not raining we would do it (Since it had rained for the past 3 weeks straight, we thought it was a safe bet that we would get out of it). But it just so happened to be the nicest day in the last 3 months, no joke. I would have to say that this year was a total bust.
We learned a few things though: NEVER, EVER go on the last Saturday that the fair is open. The weather was really warm, the traffic and parking were horrific. The place was so packed you could hardly move, the lines were extremely long. After spending some time looking at the animals and paying $15 to ride one canoe ride, Mitch and I were done with the whole scene. We promised to take the kids to Red Robin and a park to play if we could leave. We were glad that they liked our deal.

Pre-Made

Every morning when I go into Cameron and Julia's room I am impressed that they made their beds without me asking. Such good little kids. Last night when I went into check on them before bed I found Cameron sleeping on top of his blankets. When I asked him this morning about it he told me he does that so he doesn't have to make his bed in the morning. So much easier. Well...at least it is getting made...

23 19

The kids have a new game that they have been playing. It cracks me up. It is called 23 19. In the movie Monsters, Inc., the CDA's (Child Detection Agency) code for when they find anything human is a 23 19. It is there job to destroy and get rid of human things.

The other day I found all three of the kids in the garage playing and since this isn't my first choice to have them play in there, I went to find out what was going on. I was informed that they were the CDA and they had just found a human sock and were trying to destroy it. They were holding a sock with a PVC pipe so that they wouldn't touch it and were running around screaming 23 19, 23 19. Natalie informed me that she was Mr. Waternoose. They are pretty funny.

Good Big Brother

Every day when the kids got off the bus Cameron holds Julia's hand while they waited to cross the street. It is so sweet.

Peaches and Pears

Aren't they wonderful? Thanks mom for the help!

What?

How can it be that I have child with this big of feet? Seriously...STOP GROWING!!
Mitch came home last night and saw Cam's new shoes lying on the floor of the laundry room and said, "We have a kid that fits those? Incredible." My thoughts exactly.

For the Snack

Yesterday was the 1st game of soccer for both Cameron and Julia. This marks the start of a crazy filled schedule for the next 8 weeks. Julia has been anxiously waiting until she turned 5 so that she could play instead of watch. I asked her if she liked soccer and what her favorite part was, she told me that she is playing soccer for the snack at the end of the game. Good to know. I could have saved some money and a lot of time if I had known this earlier. It has been hard to watch Cameron get treats after every game and not get any...now it is her turn. She had a good game and got a frosted cookie with a Capri Sun at the end of it!

Mitch and I loved how she has her legs crossed while waiting for her turn to get into the game.

Kindergarten!

Julia is a kindergartner!

Jules had a great 1st day at school. She has afternoon kindergarten with Mrs. Blevins. That means mom and Natalie will have a nice quiet (hopefully nap filled) time while she is gone each day. Julia liked riding on the bus and was so cute getting on. She immediately sat with a friend on the bus and sat on the opposite side from where I was standing. Cameron has never done this is his 2+ years riding on the bus. When she came home she told me that she made one new friend named Gracie and that school is going to be easy. Here is to a fun year!

A New Home For Biscuit

While reading a new Fancy Nancy library book, Julia ran across something that she just had to make. A dog house for her dog. The dog house needed to look just like the one in the book. So this morning Julia and I set to work on Biscuit's new house. It turned out pretty cute, Julia told me it was"a little more fancy" than the book. That of course is a good thing.

We Finished!

Cameron finished his summer reading program by the middle of August. Mom and Julia had to really work hard at the end to finish up, but we did it! Another year down...whew...

Second Grader

We were up and ready to go for the first day of school!

Cameron is in a "looping" class so he has his same teacher and kids in his class as last year. Probably one of the best decisions I have made as a parent (sad, but true) was to have him in a looping class. Today was no problem, 2nd grade looks to be smoother sailing than 1st grade. This is great news! He came home excited telling me all about his new schedule. He sure is looking big.

Cam was relieved to be able to wear shorts today. There is nothing worse than pants and being hot to him. He sat in the very front of the bus on the way to school, waving good bye to me until he was out of sight. He is such a sweet guy. He was giving Julia pointers last night about the bus. It was very cute. Julia starts on Friday and these last few days might be the longest in history.

LOOK what Costco is selling!

Julia is in HEAVEN!

I thought for a moment to give it to her for Christmas but that would be just too long to wait!

(Yes, it is September 1st and Costco has Christmas items for sale!)
