The kids came home with free admission tickets from school begging us to go. With Mitch in Cross Country, Saturday was the only day we could possibly go. So promising the kids that if it was nice and not raining we would do it (Since it had rained for the past 3 weeks straight, we thought it was a safe bet that we would get out of it). But it just so happened to be the nicest day in the last 3 months, no joke. I would have to say that this year was a total bust.
We learned a few things though: NEVER, EVER go on the last Saturday that the fair is open. The weather was really warm, the traffic and parking were horrific. The place was so packed you could hardly move, the lines were extremely long. After spending some time looking at the animals and paying $15 to ride one canoe ride, Mitch and I were done with the whole scene. We promised to take the kids to Red Robin and a park to play if we could leave. We were glad that they liked our deal.
Looks like it was fun (except for the crowds and such...) We miss you guys.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that Matt and I aren't the only ones that use bribery to get out of painful events. Smart kids.
