Gerald and Piggie

Right now we love reading the Gerald and Piggie books by Mo Willems. These books are in the easy to read section in the library and Cameron loves being able to read them. The rest of us enjoy the funny pictures! If you haven't read them, check them out. Every time we go to the library we go right over to see what new Gerald and Piggie book we haven't checked out yet. This author also has some funny pictures books that include Knuffle Bunny about a little girl who looses her stuffed animal. Very funny!

It's Your Birthday

My kids love birthdays. They were very excited that it was my birthday today, but were really disappointed when they woke up this morning and I hadn't decorated the family room. I told them that they could get the decorations out and decorate the room. It was a Dora, Curious George, Cars, and 4th of July themed party!

They were so cute. They wrapped up some of their cars for me to open and wore party hats all day.

When Mitch got home we had cake and ice cream and enjoyed each others company. The party got a little crazy!

PS- Yes, Cameron is actually wearing that outfit! Yikes!

Snappers

Last night we spent the entire evening looking for sandals for the kids. No more socks and shoes everyday, thank heavens!! We were having a hard time finding the plastic imitation crocs that are so easy for them to put on, so we ended up going to five different stores looking for them. During our search Cameron found some flip flops that he wanted SO bad. Since he can't even walk in them we were skeptical about buying the $5 plastic sandals. We finally agreed to let him have them. He was so excited...but the way he walked in them was definitely trying...we had no idea how loud sandals can be. He has gotten better today so hopefully by the end of the summer he will walk in them normally. As soon as he put them on he said "These sandals are rock n' roll!" He cracks us up! He now has started to call his sandals "snappers" because of the sound that they make when he walks. Everyday we can't believe how big he is getting. Where did our little boy go?

Easter dresses and a handsome boy!

Cameron insisted on buying a green tie and socks. It is unfortunate that the socks are bright green and the tie is pastel. But who is looking, right? On a good day we can convince him to tuck his shirt in.

The primary children went up front in sacrament meeting to sing "Did Jesus really live again?" Julia was so excited. She kept telling me that she is a grown up girl and she can do it. She sang so loud and it was so cute! Cameron on the other hand was too scared to go up even though he knew the song. He told me "next year he would do it" and asked if I was proud of him just like Julia. Breaks my heart when he says things like that.

Natalie has 5 more Sundays until she is in nursery. She is making sure that we suffer dearly the next 5 weeks. She is definitely ready!

Sunday

After general conference was over we went up to Bellevue to visit grandma and grandpa. We had a lot of fun and did some exciting things. Cameron and grandpa read the book Olivia and then decided to make the monster that Olivia makes in the book to scare her brother.

Cameron and Julia also helped grandma color her Easter eggs. I forgot to mention to her that coloring eggs over carpet wasn't the best idea. Blue dye was spilled all over the carpet. Luckily for us it was grandma that spilled it and it seemed to come out of the carpet okay! Good thing the carpet is green to begin with.

On the way home that night we were about a minute from home when Julia says to me "Mom, the Lego that is stuck in my nose is almost out!" I said "WHAT LEGO!" The kids had been playing with Legos at grandma's house but that had been 4 hours earlier. When we got home, we laid her on the couch and I took a picture thinking it was sort of funny. That is where the laughing stopped. She had the Lego so far up her nose that we couldn't see it and everytime we tried to get it out with the tweezers we pushed it up more. We tried to have her blow her nose but she doesn't "know how" and for the life of us couldn't get her to do it. After contemplating going to the ER and spending the night in the waiting room we tried one more idea. We used a pump that can blow air or suck air. We stuck it in her nose and sucked the lego out. All in all it was about a 30 mintue ordeal. It was a small bead like Lego that she thought "Hey, why not stick this up my nose?!" Gotta love kids!

Easter Bunny

Friday night we went to the Super Mall and visited the Easter Bunny. Cameron decided that this year he wasn't going to be scared of him and want to sit on his lap. (I think he is getting a little confused with Santa, but whatever.) It was Natalie's year to be scared, anytime the bunny looked in her direction she would have a terrified look on her face and try to hide. Along with buying a picture that costs as much as the mortgage they gave us free cotton candy. Cameron loves cotton candy and ate his in about 2 minutes.
PS- Cameron and Julia want to know where the Easter Bunny lives. Any input would be welcome!

It's raining, it's pouring the old man is snoring.....

Today the kids came running into the room where I was cleaning yelling "The sun is out, the sun is out." It is sad when seeing the sun is such a novelty. We are so ready for summer. Bring on the sun!
