Cameron's in Love

He LOVES the Wii. He is very cute to watch play it. Everyday he finds a new sport that he likes to play. Today he told me he just likes all of them and he is becoming a pro at all of them. This morning he drew this picture of him bowling. He drew himself with a big smile because that is what his "character" has on the Wii. Luckily for us it is a good way to release some of his energy! He is exhausted after he boxes! The other day he kept going round after round on the boxing and finally he started crying because he was too tired to go on and his opponents just kept coming.

OH, THE HORROR!

Naps

With it being Christmas break and it being sort of loud at home, Natalie has been finding it hard to sleep at nap time. Yesterday she played in her crib for her entire nap. After about a hour and half I went to get her and this is what I found.





Light on- she can now turn on the light from the crib
Her musical birds blaring- she knows how to adjust the volume
All blankets and stuffed animals on the ground
Pants and diaper thrown on the ground and her jumping up and down in the crib

Wisdom Teeth

My wisdom teeth are finally coming in (okay, so it is about time) and they hurt! I feel like a baby that needs to gnaw on something. I am in the progress of finding a place to get them removed, I've been waiting for dental insurance. Hopefully I can get them out soon, they are driving me nuts! This going to suck!

Reminder for me

On Sunday while the sacrament was being passed, Cameron had his arms folded and his eyes shut tightly through out the entire thing. After it was over he opened his eyes and whispered in his not so quite voice that he was thinking about Jesus. He melted my heart.

Christmas Morning

Julia made sure to leave something for Rudolph for when he stopped by. She wanted me to help her write a note to Santa so that he would know "that one of the girls that lives here loves Rudolph the most." She told me today that she is going to be Rudolph for Halloween next year. What a funny girl!

We had a nice Christmas and now have spent the last few days trying to figure out where all our new stuff is going to be put!

Santa's Visit

Santa stopped by our house Sunday night to visit us and ask us what we wanted for Christmas. We are so lucky to have our very own personal house visit each year. The girls were a little apprehensive when he first arrived and didn't want to get too close. Cameron on the other hand jumped right up on his lap ready to tell him what he wanted.





I wish that I had video taped Cameron sitting on Santa's lap. He was so cute. Santa asked him if he knew what he wanted for Christmas and he told him yes, a construction vest to guard in and a music stand. He then told Santa he was a little worried that the music stand might be too big to fit in his sleigh. Santa reassured him that he had plenty of room in his sleigh for that. Cameron was relieved. It was all I could do to keep Cameron in the house after Santa left because they wanted to see his reindeer and sleigh.



When asked what Julia wanted for Christmas, she rattled off a whole new list of toys that hadn't made the previous list. I guess she will be surprised on Christmas morning and hope she likes what she gets!



As you can see, Natalie was NOT interested in sitting on Santa's lap but did warm up to him after he gave her a candy cane.

Saturday

Cameron and Julia were so excited that Dale and Laura are home from school. They missed them a lot while they were gone. Cameron and Dale played Rock Band and Cameron was excited that he used the guitar for the very 1st time. He was really cute!



The gang at the Botanical Gardens!

The gardens are very cool to see at Christmas time and it was fun to see the lights. However it was raining, there were about a million people with the same idea and our girls had major meltdowns while there. It was a little stressful. I think next time I will go alone to enjoy the sights. :)

The Story of the Music Stand

Yes, it is true. All my 6 year old wants for Christmas is not his two front teeth but a music stand. One might question why Cameron might want a music stand for Christmas but as his parent I have learned Cameron has a very unique love for different kinds of things. He wants to "conduct" and when I say that I don't mean conduct music I mean conduct "meetings". He and Julia love to play "Brother Moulton and Sister Wellborn" (They are the 1st counselor in the Bishopric and the Primary Music Leader in our ward). After discussing with Mitch what we wanted to get him for Christmas and what he wanted for Christmas, we decided against the music stand. They are really expensive and not really a six years old boy toy. He wants one that looks like the ones at church, not some flimsy kid one. For a split second we joked about "borrowing" one from the church. After making the decision I was at peace. That was until Cameron starting saying things like, "I know Santa will bring me that music stand," and looking through all the presents that I wrapped looking for ones that might be shaped like a music stand, and one day I found him "finding the perfect spot by his desk where the stand will go" then I knew that my hopes for what I wanted to give him needed to be reconsidered. So...I took back the toys that I knew he would love once he got them but that were not a music stand and ordered online a music stand. So to make a long story short, yes my six year old will get his wish on Christmas morning and a music stand will be waiting by the tree. One might say it is a Christmas miracle!

Impressive

Julia is a puzzle master, she is taking after her mom! :)



This morning I got this puzzle out to work on with Julia, it has 100 pieces and is pretty tricky since most of it is the same color. I helped her get the border done before my visiting teachers came over and then I told her we would work on it after they left. She did the whole thing by herself while I was in with the visiting teachers. I was impressed!

Sick

Poor Natalie has been so sick. She has had a high fever (104.5) today and it just wouldn't go away. Finally tonight her fever broke and she seemed more herself. After I got her dressed this morning I sent her downstairs to play while I made the beds. When I came downstairs this is what I found. Poor thing.

Reindeer Girl

Julia is in LOVE with everything reindeer. She made this cute hat in preschool and it is her prize possession for the time being. She told me she made the eyes on the reindeer like that so that it would be a girl.

She also told me tonight that she can't wait to be a mom and has four things she is excited about being able to do: 1-Drive and "go anywhere she wants" 2- "Have phone calls" 3- "Go grocery shopping, but that is tricky because she doesn't know everything she needs to buy" 4- Make lists

This might be more telling of what kind of mom that I am..........

Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer

Julia lined up all her ponies today pretending that they were Santa's reindeer. She let Marty the Zebra from Madagascar be Rudolph, then she and Natalie kept singing the song over and over.

Snow Flake Lane

Last night we went to Bellevue Square's Snow Flake Lane. Mitch and I thought it might not be so crowded being December 5th but man were we wrong. The place was packed! The kids went crazy with Rudolph, Frosty, the drummers, snow princesses, a polar bear, and other people dressed up. It was a fun time and we definitely want to go back again before the season is over, what fun!

This morning I woke up to the sound of drums being beat. When I went downstairs to see what all the racket was, Cameron and Julia were playing Snowflake Lane. Cameron was being one of the drummers and Julia was getting on her Cinderella dress so that she could be a snow princess. They informed me that Natalie could be Rudolph and could wear the antlers we had but we didn't have a red nose.

A Big Problem

Julia informed me Friday after school that she was having a "big problem". When I asked her what the big problem was she told me that "Some people think that I am 3 but I am 4! On Sunday's dad makes me take a nap and I am not tired! I am 4 and don't need to take a nap, that is for girls that are 3." Oh to have the problems of a 4 year old! I felt bad for her though, she is a big girl and doesn't need to take a nap every day but it is wonderful when the girls both go down for a nap and I have 2 hours to myself. I think I am the one with the big problem now!
